About Vodice

Town Vodice is one of the best known and most popular tourist destination in Dalmatia, which is not only known because of its large number of tourists, but for its liveliness, variety of tourist offers and hospitable hosts.

Vodice is situated on the sunny coast, in a wide bay, only 11 km away from the ancient city of Sibenik, which is the center of Sibenik-Knin county. Airport Split is 85 km away and the airport of Zadar is 62 km far from Vodice, which is less than an hour drive. The nearest islands to Vodice are: inhabited Prvic and unhabited Tijant and Logorun, and in the immediate vicinity are the National parks Kornati and Krka.

Archaeological findings show that Vodice were inhabited place by the Romans. The remains of old stone buildings of medieval town with narrow, small streets even today provides us exceptional appearance. The word "Vodice" actually means a source of drinking water, because even in those ancient times, people transported the water by ships to other Adriatic places.

Of the former agriculture, today the inhabitants of Vodice, are mainly engaged in tourism, wine and olive oil. There are very famous wines and olive oil produced in Vodice, so today are fields around Vodice full of olive groves and vineyards. Comparing with other cities along the coast, there is nowhere so lively as in Vodice. Grasslands, gardens, balconies and parks in Vodice are decorated, clean and full of flowers so Vodice people use to call "City of flowers".

Today Vodice have general practice clinic, two dental clinics, veterinary clinic, two pharmacies, post office, several banks, gas station and tourist office where visitors can get all the information that interest them. Tourists are also available to visit the great hotels: Punta, Olympia and Imperial, small private hotels, camping sites, private apartments, numerous cafes, patisseries, souvenir shops, stores, etc. The beaches are sandy, gravelly and concrete, a stretch from the center toward Srima and on the other side towards Tribunj. Crystal-clear sea and a rich selection of entertainment content by the beach will stick you definitely there and you will not go anywhere else.

Night life in Vodice is extremely rich with a variety of night clubs and discos as well as cultural programs on the waterfront.

If you want to dedicate to an active holiday, there is also ACY marina Vodice, which was awarded with "European Blue flag", with its protected two breakwaters and with 415 berths. You can actively spend your time in Vodice on the binke also, with a marked bike routes, as well as under the sea, dealing with diving in the Diving center of Vodice. And if you want a vacation packed with adrenalin, piquant charm Kornati archipelago, you can fight with the biggest fish in the Adriatic Sea in the famous Big Game Fishing.
